It is our goal at The Seed Program to provide youth with the support needed to beat the odds. The Seed Program holds weekly after school sessions that are rooted in social, emotional, and educational development. During these sessions, students participate in socio-emotional activities to promote empowerment and healing. In addition, we provide youth with a safe space on campus to establish healthy relationships with college-educated mentors and peers. We believe that promoting a student's overall well-being and development is often the key to unleashing students' academic potential.
Students establish relationships with the program’s staff. Program staff serve as life coaches and check-in with each student to provide emotional support, academic guidance, and progress checks.
College? Job? Transitional housing? Whatever a student’s goal is, we help them plan to achieve that and provide them with the resources and guidance to do so.
Mentors facilitate activities that promote valuable social, emotional, and academic life skills such as: team-building, communication, coping skills, and emotional literacy.
We provide our students with academic support through homework help and tutoring. Mentors also support youth college prep such as college applications, FAFSA, and CHAFEE Grant.
At The Seed Program, we’re family. We have annual traditions to celebrate holidays, host a Graduation Gala to celebrate our graduating seniors, and we make sure every student feels loved with a special birthday celebration filled with their requests.
At each site, our classroom is a safe space where students are always welcome to hang out after school with their mentors and peers and receive any of the support they want or need.
